Approval Mark E7

E7
Type approval — which authority granted itHungary
Approved by Hungary under the UN 1958 Agreement — not made there. An approval granted by any one party is recognised by all the others, which is the whole point of the scheme: the tyre was built wherever its maker builds tyres.

Defined in UN vehicle regulation.

On a sidewall this can also mean

  • off-the-road tread code — Earthmover, flotation tread Earthmover, flotation tread. On an off-the-road tyre.

Where E7 is on the tyre

The approval mark sits low on the sidewall in its own small lettering, apart from the size. On a real tyre the E is inside a circle. Here it is on an example tyre.
