Type approval — which authority granted itSan Marino
Approved by San Marino under the UN 1958 Agreement — not made there. An approval granted by any one party is recognised by all the others, which is the whole point of the scheme: the tyre was built wherever its maker builds tyres.

Where E57 is on the tyre

The approval mark sits low on the sidewall in its own small lettering, apart from the size. On a real tyre the E is inside a circle. Here it is on an example tyre.
